A Little History....
David Appaniah Seekola, born 17 December 1921 to Jack Appaniah Seekola who worked and lived in Ladysmith Railway Barracks.
He then moved to Durban . He worked in Greyville Motors as a medical assistant to Doctore Umpledy catering for the railway staff.
at that time the highest education was standard 6, which David completed successfully. He qualified as first aider.
On the 27th of March 1941, He married Mary Beatrice Daniels and so their journey began .....
Their family consisted of 12 children,4 boys and 8 girls .

Joyce Santhosum Elliot (nee Seekola )married Sonny Elliot and had 10 children
Victor Devdass Seekola married Mummy Devdass and they had 7 children
Rhoda Elim Pavithrum Arjunan ( nee Seekola) married George Kuppusami
they had 4 children
Florence Visvasum Catherine Gurriah (nee David) married Jaya Gurriah and
they had 4 children
Robin Sylvester Jesudas David Seekola married Lolly and had 1 chilld
Mavis Victoria Devakanta Naidoo (nee Seekola) married Ronnie Naidoo and had 4 children
Jean Vivian Jayarani Govender (nee Seekola) married Kitty Govender and had 5 children
Eva Maureen Sarojini Ganesh (nee David) married Selvan and had 3 children
Theresa Marilyn Govender (nee Seekola) married Sona Govender and had 3 children
Mervyn Theophillus David married Rita and had 5 children
Lydia Brenda Caroline Gopal (nee David) married Steven Gopal and had two children
Leonard Adam Wayn David married Shirley and had 2 children
David also fathered one more child, a boy Solomon David, the youngest, who has two children, making the count 13 children and 53 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren , still counting ,and great great grandchildren ......
My grandpa, or thatha, as us Indians would say, was really " a jack of all trades". There was nothing he could not do...
He as a musician who played by ear and could play any instrument set before him. He wrote plays. Was a great carpenter and often helped his grand children with their school projects. He was a true artist.
He was a preacher of Gods word and served as an elder in the Ebenezer Church with my grandma following behind him in ministry .
Following in his footsteps in ministry and are pastors now ...
